Staff very friendly. Breakfast very good. Good location and security. Rooms spacious and very nice decor. Loved our stay there.
Everything was fine. Nothing that we didn't like.
Two days I stayed in the hotel watching only tv. It is an isolated location. One cannot get even a fruit from the shop because it is too far and require transportation. The taxi is very costly in Sandon area.
The isolated location was a n all time problem for me. I like to stay in tehcity center so that can go around for time pass and eating.
The upgrade to the Presedential Suite :)
It was fantastic. Its secure and in quite neighbourhood.
Communication on how you ordrer breakfast should be improved. Brochures on local attractions should be nearby. Communinaction on how you can reach a staffer if they are not at the reception should be clear
The rooms were lovely and clean and the bed itself was so comfortable that we overslept:-) It is extremely quiet and peaceful at The Wesley
The situation of the plugs in the room are such at it is very difficult to see a mirror in which to blow dry ones hair. We were unfortunately, also not informed the night before of the breakfast menu - most of the breakfast menu has to be ordered the night before. This slightly spoiled an otherwise excellent value for money breakfast.
Loved the quality of the rooms, lovey and spacious and clean. Staff very friendly but not that efficient E.G. No kettle in room promised to bring one and did not. Staff could not cope with number of people at bfast and we could hear staff shouting in the kitchen from the diningroom. Perhaps play music in the diningroom. These are small things that can be addressed easily. Would stay there again.
The rooms are exclusive and beautiful.
Parking facilities must be improved.
Clean, friendly staff, good bed, quiet location.
All I can think of is the lack of a shower head.
Staff & the design of the large rooms. It is an amazing hotel to stay and enjoyyy. I highly recommend it!
I loved the set out of the room & the romantic feel to it. The owner were welcoming & friendly.
The bedding had stains on as did the towels. We went out & they cleaned room but only after our return did they come about hr later to change bedding why not do it while they cleaned room.
The room was clean & the decor was of a high standard. The staff were very friendly & helpful.
Lack of a telephone in the room.
It is easy to open a boutique hotel, more difficult to manage it. Our room was not cleaned properly (floors not clean: a dead insect remaining for days at same spot); when the shower gel and tissues finished they were not replaced although we put the empty ones clearly visible. The Wesley offers also possibility to have dinner at night, although it has no full restaurant. When we ate in The Wesley, the cook forgot to make rice to go along with the fish& chicken! And the cook is not full time present so there was no solution, but full meal was billed. When we asked for an extra chair for our room, in the double room there was only one chair, this was not followed up by the staff.
Upon arrival, we immediately felt safe at the presence of a 24 hour security guard on duty & the double remote controlled access gates. We were warmly welcomed by Teddy, who even helped us with our luggage. The suite was really luxurious. Breakfast was lovely and the staff is very pleasant, doing their very best, trying to please every guest. Highly recommend... We would definitely book in again when in Gauteng.
The Wesley is a unique Hotel. Apon arrival, I was greeted warmly by Mena, who proceeded to show me my lovely room and all its facilities. My room was spotless, with the emphisis on the detail. A gorgeous 100% percale cotton bed being the centre attraction. I loved the bath in the room and the very large shower. Even the paintings on the wall were beautiful to look at. The soft dressnig gowns were also just lovely, especially on the cold winter evenings! I also enjoyed delicious breakfasts in the warm, sunny, beautifully decorated dinig room, where I met and chatted to Tony, the owner and Tina, the very sweet manager. All in all, I had a wonderful stay, where I felt welcome and looked after.
Just wonderful. Would definitely be back when I am in Johannesburg. It was great. The kids could not believe it. The breakfast was excellent, so the service all round. Just a pity we could not use the lovely pool because of the cold and rain. Thanks for a lovely stay.
